Join us for the 2nd Annual BIG FLOAT, a fun, leisurely and family-friendly float down the river! Kayaks, canoes, SUP's, inner tubes and homemade rafts welcome. This year we're moving the beloved Homemade Raft Competition from PaddleFest to the BIG FLOAT, giving you more time to gather your crew and build that winning raft! After-party with local BBQ, SweetWater brews & live music!
DETAILS: THE BIG FLOAT WILL BE SATURDAY, AUGUST 27, 2016 at 9AM, LAUNCHING at 10AM. LEAVE YOUR KAYAKS, ETC. AT THE NORTH AUGUSTA BOAT RAMP AND DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE TO THE SAVANNAH RIVERKEEPER OFFICE, 105 RIVERFRONT DRIVE, AUGUSTA, GA 30901. A SHUTTLE WILL TAKE YOU BACK TO THE LAUNCH POINT. WE WILL TAKE OUT AT THE RIVERKEEPER OFFICE WHERE YOUR VEHICLE WILL BE WAITING.
All participants must have a life jacket, water, and a paddle or oar (including tubes). Glass bottles are not allowed on the water. And remember, pack it in, pack it out. Please be respectful of the river, clean up after yourself and have a good time to #SaveOurSavannah!
