The Savannah Riverkeeper continues its intervention into the expansion of the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant in Burke County, GA. Currently, Plant Vogtle uses 45 million gallons of water from the Savannah River per day. The expansion calls for the construction of two additional cooling units, which would require over 90 million gallons of river water- with this majority of water evaporated into the air.
