Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions
How can I become a volunteer?
Complete the form on our Volunteer Sign Up Page on the Savannah Riverkeeper Web Site.
I have just signed up online, now what?
Thanks so much for taking the time to sign up. Your e-mail address has now been added to our list of volunteers and you will contacted when we have exciting announcements or volunteer opportunities like cleanup dates and fundraisers.
Upcoming Events
We're constantly working on new events and activities in the community. If you've just signed up, now is a great time to check out our Volunteer Opportunity Page to see if there is something coming up that you are interested in. You will be getting e-mails about events as they are posted to this page as well.
I have a group interested in volunteering at one of your events. Should the volunteers sign up individually or as one registration with the number of volunteers?
Either way is great. We’re happy to register your group under one contact person and will notify that person via email a few days prior to the event. Once received, you will need to share our reminder email with your group. Otherwise, you are welcome to sign up individuals from your group separately. Because our events fill up quickly, we often recommend registering your entire group at one time to ensure the appropriate numbers of spots are reserved for the entire group.
Are children allowed at volunteer events?
Children are allowed to volunteer at events. However, we ask that children under the age of 17 be accompanied by adults. For smaller children, please make sure there is a one adult per one child ratio in your group. Because of the dangers with tools, and other hazards in nature, especially near water ways, we kindly ask that you monitor your children at all times during clean-up events.
